Good News

I have great news, which is a change in direction for how this summer has gone so far. You may now that I have been trying to get my consulting services off the ground for a while now. I have had the opportunity to travel to Las Vegas to present on technology tools for the KIPP organization, which was a lot of fun. I am passionate about helping teachers to grow and find new and more effective ways to reach our students. My personal areas that I love to work in area technology integration, social media, assessment, and pedagogy, particularly those strategies that promote student interest, collaboration, and ownership.

Thanks to some good friends I met on Twitter, Dr. Kevin and Julia Washburn, I will be able to work in this area of consulting, development, and technology full time. I have the privilege of being able to partner with Clerestory Learning/Make Way For Books in a supporting role as an independent consultant. I’ll be able to work on both educational and technological ideas, as well as make my own hours. While it is still a little odd not being in school in September, I find this new position exhilarating. I also hope that it will allow me to stimulate more interest in my consulting business and finish the short book I have started on professional development.

Also, I am available to consult and offer training for schools and organizations. Feel free to peruse my Consulting Services and Courses page. Feel free to contact me if you are interested or have any questions. I hope that I can really make a difference in this new position.
